1/16” Contextual model

This case study of the O-Museum by SANAA breaks down the project into its essential pieces. By isolating the building and its subject(the neighboring Ogasawara writing room), I was able to study what motivates the architect and distill their values into five basic points: 1. Dynamic function and form 2. Lightness of material and structure 3. Intermediate space as threshold between the architecture and its context 4. Transparent, reflective, boundaries and 5. Clear spatial concept for the user.

1/8” Detail model

With the five essential points of SANAA, my partner and I chose a part of the building to construct a full scale detail of.  Although a little unorthadox for a detail, to us, the chair really represented these five points that is present in SANAA’s work.
