Sponsored by the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness, this microhousing community aims to bring stability, security, and comfort to homeless and disabled veterans. The site plan is situated to create internal courtyards that break down the larger community into smaller neighborhoods. The simplicity of both plan and materials keeps costs to a minimum while creating space for veterans to make each house their own. The community center serves as a central communal area and provides space for mental and physical health services, life skills classes, a community kitchen, and gymnasium.
